Hey Slaughterhouse fans,
April is shaping up to be a wild ride, and I’ve got something fresh and twisted coming your way! This month, I’m releasing the newest short read in the Slaughterhouse collection—Trust—and let me tell you, it’s a bit of a departure from the usual blood and madness…but don’t worry, it’s still got plenty of both.
What’s Trust About?
Trust takes a sharp turn into sci-fi territory, following a robotic war dog that becomes self-aware and decides it’s had enough of the carnage. Built to be a perfect weapon, this dog starts to question its purpose and, more dangerously, starts making its own decisions. Freedom comes with a price, though—and not everyone is thrilled that their killing machine has developed a mind of its own.
But of course, we can’t stray too far from the heart of the Slaughterhouse series: our favorite morally bankrupt anti-hero, Rick. Rick isn’t a good guy. He’s not even pretending to be. But who says we have to root for the good guys, anyway? Rick finds himself caught up in the chaos when the robotic dog crosses his path, and let’s just say... trust is not something that comes easy to a guy like Rick.
Why a Robotic Dog?
I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of AI gaining consciousness, especially when it’s been designed for violence. What happens when a weapon decides it doesn’t want to be a weapon anymore? And how does someone like Rick handle the fallout when that weapon turns out to be more human than most people he knows? That’s the core of Trust—a gritty, fast-paced dive into the blurred lines between control and freedom, loyalty and betrayal.
When Can You Get It?
Get ready for a brutal, mind-bending ride—and remember, in the Slaughterhouse world, nothing and no one is exactly what they seem.
Until next time—
Stay sharp. Stay savage.💀
