Sneak Peek! Behind the Scenes of Trust

Hey, readers!

I’m so excited to share a sneak peek and some behind-the-scenes details about Slaughterhouse 4: Trust, the newest addition to the Slaughterhouse series, dropping this April! This one’s a bit of a departure from the others—it leans into the sci-fi realm and explores a darker, more complex side of the hero/antihero dynamic. If you’re a fan of technothrillers, you might want to buckle up for this ride.

What Makes Slaughterhouse 4: Trust Different?

While the other Slaughterhouse stories have stuck closer to suspense and horror, Trust takes a sharp turn into the world of advanced technology and moral ambiguity. The story follows two unlikely antiheroes—each with their own twisted moral compass. But can they trust each other when betrayal feels inevitable?

I've always been fascinated by the gray area between good and evil, and Trust dives headfirst into that murky territory. Not all heroes wear capes—and not all of them have pure intentions. Sometimes, survival means teaming up with the devil you know.

Do You Need to Read the Other Books First?

Nope! Each book in the Slaughterhouse series is a standalone story. You can jump straight into Trust without reading the others and still get the full experience. But if you have read the previous books, you might catch a few subtle connections and Easter eggs woven into the narrative.

Exploring the Theme of Trust

Trust is fragile, especially when survival is on the line. In Slaughterhouse 4, the protagonists have had their trust broken in the past. They live within islands of themselves. When they meet, can they trust each other? Or even in themselves? These are the questions that drive the tension and drama at the core of this story.

A Glimpse Inside…

“Here’s the thing,” he said. “I’m not a nice guy. Never have been. Never tried to be.” He scratched his thigh absentmindedly. “But this…this tech I created?” He leaned forward again. “It was my ticket. To a new life. A restart if you will.”

The dog’s ears leaned forward, and Rick could tell it was paying attention.

“I was going legit. And I was finally going to have the money to disappear.” He looked at his hands before staring into the dog’s eyes. “But all of that’s changed. And now…now I’m looking for revenge.”

👀 Intrigued yet? I hope so! If you’re into morally gray characters, pulse-pounding action, and high-stakes psychological games, Slaughterhouse 4: Trust will be right up your alley.

I am also particularly proud of this cover art too. So many are focused on buying eBooks (I get it, really I do), but there is something to be said for the paperbacks and the full image!

Let me know in the comments—do you prefer traditional heroes, or do you like your protagonists a little more flawed? And if you’ve read the other Slaughterhouse books, which one is your favorite so far?

Stay tuned for more updates and the official release date—April 1st!

Happy reading (and trusting),

~Sequel
